Nanook of the North in the Mecca of Wheat

Perhaps my biggest regret over the past few years is that I've never kept of journal - particulalry through my two years at Pearson College, where a kaleidoscope of experiences have blended into an amorphous ooze of scattered chronological origin despite the not insignificant capacity of my skill for memory. As I embark on the next phase of my life, 4 years of Pharmacy school at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, I figured it was about time I put a little effort into a self-reflective tool like a blog. Saves you the wrist cramps of writing it out anyway.
I feel a bit of an egoist putting things like this out in the public domain - who on earth would find me interesting enough to bother reading this? Well hopefully me at least, otherwise I'd be in a very sad state of affairs. Who knows, maybe reading what I've written a bit later, which is always more objective, will give me a bit more grounding on where the heck I'm coming from, cause god knows I'm clueless enough as to my whereabouts sometimes.
Anyway, the past week I'm been caravanning around Edmonton staying with several different friends until the move to SK on Tuesday. Particularly poignant was a great dinner and sendoff with Alan, whose wordly parents are back and spending some quality time on Canadian soil. Wokka-wokka Mousse-cake!
Getting in some great runs through the river valley - damn Butterdome people don't have my route mapped out although they seem to have everyone else's - so I have to estimate it's between 6-7km long, I did it in 23 minutes on Thursday, let's see what I can muster today. No workout as UofA closes down despicably early (4pm) on the weekends. Wish I'd been able to see more of my great friends from the track team before I left but in reality they already have- Anna off to England (maybe she'll run into Steve.... 'do you know Steve from England? hyuk') Christine on her pharmacology internship in Quebec and Kristin already graduated and a pharmacist in Calgary (damn you!!! :D) So our group of the last four years has already split, and it makes sense for me to be heading on as well.
Sleeping in way too late and playing old school Alundra & Suikoden II, a well as the highly amusing although slightly too oversimplified LEGO Star Wars hehe - finally got Buffy Season 2 to complete the collection. Some cool movies coming out to get on Amazon.com (avoid .ca whenever possible) - Summer Storm, Third Man Out - the gay ones anyway. Already got the incomparable V for Vendetta, goes right on my top shelf along with Kill Bill Vol. 1, American Beauty, and a couple others as the films that engross you throughout their duration.
Should get out and run around, take another 30 sec off my river run time.... Hopefully I don't neglect this! Pictures will be up once I get settled in Saskatoon.
Hasta luego - Stew
