Heading Out
Morning of the move, packing up everything I have in storage and making the trek to Saskatoon. Trying to send mass emails via the neat USask PAWS groups feature to get contacts to play tennis, volleyball - I was very impressed by the e-infrastructure of the UofS student services, but it seems like an incredibly useful tool being underutilized. Hopefully something comes of it.
Watched a wicked US Open match last night between Andre Agassi and Andrei Pavel (cute Romanian) and after three tiebreaks the vet pulled it out. As long as someone clobbers Justine Heninne-Hardenne I'll be happy.
Every gay man will tell you that no matter how safe he's been he always gets a gnawing pit of fear in his stomach whenever he goes in for an STD checkup - probably the same for everyone but even so... anyways, still clean as a whistle thankfully, so always good to start new adventures on a good note. I'm sure some people will cry overshare on that tidbit, but if I may preach for a moment getting checked is always the right thing to do. Besides, this summer I was due for a couple of checkups, particularly the dentist, where I finally got a cap seal on a chipped tooth from a few years ago.
Speaking of health crises - still can't believe the ONE person that I knew is Saskatoon is still in a coma...potentially not waking up. WHY Trav did you not wear a bike helmet after getting knocked into your 1st coma of the summer? ARGH - poor brilliant guy, was supposed to be starting law school next week :(. The fates collectively blow.
Hopefully this place I'm about to be renting will be good, it certainly soudns decent on paper, and can't argue with the rent, saving $190/month compared to last year. The house is owned by a couple that used to live in my hometown and at one brief point worked with my dad, so it is indeed a small world.
Alright - gotta haul ass - later - Stew
